RYA Navigation Instructor Course
This classroom-based course combines training and assessment for aspiring RYA Navigation Instructors. You’ll discuss course structure, syllabi, equipment, and teaching resources, while delivering a pre-prepared session and completing chartwork exercises.
The course provides plenty of opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of IRPCS, chart work, tides, electronic navigation, seamanship, buoyage, and passage planning, while gaining practical experience teaching these topics.
This is a two-day course, primarily designed for those new to teaching RYA Shorebased courses, though experienced instructors are also welcome. The course combines assessment of knowledge and instructing ability with guidance on the structure and standards required for teaching. Candidates must arrive with sufficient underpinning knowledge.
